The Parish of Hannahstown lies to the

west of Belfast in country Antrim

Northern Ireland.


With a parish of around 2,500 scattered

over the area, the church services are

divided between St Joseph’s Church  on

Hannahstown Hill and St Peter’s Church,

“The Rock”, near Stoneyford.


There is a large Community Hall at

Hannahstown which provides a great

range of  activities and facilities for the

local community.

BAPTISM

In order to arrange a Baptism please call at the Parish Office with the child’s long birth certificate.  It must be one of the parents who makes the arrangement for the child’s Baptism.

Vigil Mass Saturday @ 6pm. Sunday @ 11.30am

St Peter’s Church – Tuesday @ 9.15am;

GROWING COMMUNITIES

As part of Belfast City Councils Growing Communities Strategy in partnership with Hannahstown Community Centre the next gardening craft workshop will take place in Hannahstown Community Centre on Monday 25th March from 10.30am.  This workshop will focus on how to take cuttings of your favourite plants.


SALE OF GRAVES – The Parish of Glenavy and Killead have a limited number of Burial Rights available in the graveyard of St Joseph’s Church, Chapel Road, Glenavy.

This is a secluded and well maintained parish graveyard in the country just outside Glenavy village, 20 minutes west of the city.  


Each Grave will accommodate up to three interments and are priced at £3,000.  Application forms are available from the Glenavy Parish Office tel. 02894 422278 Mon-Fri 10.00am – 3.00pm.


UPCOMING CONFERENCE - The Iona Institute NI welcomes you to our upcoming conference, "The Future of Conscience in an Age of Intolerance" on Saturday 30th March 2019. 10 am - 1.30pm (Registration opens 9.30am). Wellington Park Hotel, Malone Road, Belfast BT9 6RU. £10 Adults £5 student (includes tea/coffee/scones).

Advent Prayer Gatherings


The season of Advent runs for 4 weeks and offer us all an opportunity to pray our way to Christmas.

For Advent 2018, our Parish are offering 4 weekly Advent prayer gatherings.


The topics of weeks of Advent are:

Advent Week One- Stay Awake

Advent Week 2- The Wilderness

Advent Week 3- Joy

Advent Week 4- Saying Yes to God


The first gathering will be on

Sunday 2nd December 2018 @ 6pm in Hannahstown Community Hall


and all are welcome to come along.


There will be refreshments available and this is sure to be a peaceful and calming way to spend our time during Advent.

Light hearted prayer and reflection to help you slow down and be in tune with the season. Takes place on Saturday 1st December from 11am – 3pm in Clonard Monastery.
